How to play

1. 🎭

   Two actors, one puzzle

   Every day at midnight Eastern you get a new start actor and target actor.

2. 🎬

   Pick a movie

   Choose a film the current actor appeared in. Browse their filmography or type to search.

3. 🎭

   Pick a co-star

   Choose someone else from that movie’s cast. Now find a film they were in — and keep bridging.

4. 🏆

   Reach the target

   Fewer degrees and a faster time mean a higher score. Six degrees is the limit; two is bragging rights.

Questions

What counts as a "degree"?

Each co-star you pass through on the way to the target. Steve Carell → The Big Short → Brad Pitt → Inglourious Basterds → Christoph Waltz is two degrees: Brad Pitt and Christoph Waltz. The same rule as Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon — a Bacon number is just your degree count with Kevin Bacon as the target.

Is 6° free? Do I need an account?

Yes, and no. The daily puzzle is free to play in any browser with no sign-up. A free account saves your streak across devices, puts you on the leaderboard with friends, and unlocks the archive of past puzzles.

Is this the Kevin Bacon game?

It is the same idea, with a new pair of actors every day instead of always ending at Kevin Bacon. If you can play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, you already know how to play 6°.

Where do the movies and cast lists come from?

From The Movie Database (TMDB). Movies only — no TV — and only people in a film’s credited cast count as co-stars, voice roles included.

What is Hard Mode?

The filmography browser is switched off, so you have to name the movies and actors from memory. Same puzzle, same scoring, more bragging rights.
