Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using 6 Degrees ("the Game") at 6degreesmovie.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game. These Terms apply to all visitors and users, including those who sign in with a Google account.

2. Who Can Use the Game

You must be at least 13 years old to use 6 Degrees. By using the Game, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

3. Your Account

You may sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Please notify us immediately at crowded.elevator.apps@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account that we determine, in our sole discretion, has:

• Cheated, manipulated scores, or exploited bugs to gain an unfair advantage.
• Abused, harassed, or threatened other users.
• Attempted to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Game or its infrastructure.
• Violated any part of these Terms.

4. Access and Availability

6 Degrees is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features, subscriptions, or change the pricing model at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of any material changes to access or pricing.

We do not guarantee that the Game will be available at all times. We may suspend, discontinue, or modify the Game at any time without prior notice.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, branding, and game mechanics of 6 Degrees are owned by Anthony Volpe and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Game without our express written permission.

Movie and actor data is provided by The Movie Database (TMDB) and is subject to TMDB's own terms and licensing.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Game.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Game or its backend systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Game's servers or networks.
• Use the Game for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Misrepresent your scores or results publicly in a way that deceives other users.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Game is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Game will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. Your use of the Game is at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anthony Volpe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Game, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of streaks, or service interruptions.

9. Third-Party Services

The Game uses third-party services including Google (sign-in), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), and The Movie Database (movie data). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Game after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Pennsylvania.
